Despite his youngest son graduating in 2014, Jose has continued to be an active and engaged member of the community, working tirelessly to enhance the educational experience for all students.
During his tenure as president of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, Jose played a pivotal role in creating public-private partnerships that focus on community support. His leadership led to significant initiatives, including student internships, backpack distributions, Thanksgiving baskets for families in need, free haircuts, and college scholarships. These efforts have had a profound impact on the lives of students and their families.
In addition to his Chamber of Commerce work, Jose has volunteered on various PTA councils, including serving as PTA President at Norwalk High School, where he fostered increased parental engagement and improved school culture. His service on school site councils, the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), and the district wellness committee further demonstrates his dedication to supporting students and their families.
Jose’s commitment to education is deeply personal, shaped by his own experiences as a public school student. His goal is to ensure that every student has the support and opportunities they need to thrive, reflecting his belief that a strong education is the foundation for a successful future.
